As printmaking is a medium that so readily allows itself to individual interpretation, this class will appeal to both those with printmaking experience and to those who may not be familiar with the printmaking process but have a curiosity for the medium and a desire to extend their experience into print. We will work with black and white and colour and the workshop will concentrate on both printing with and without a press. Margaret Preston produced some of Australia’s most influential prints on her Kitchen table using the back of a spoon. This non-toxic workshop is divided into daily projects we will cover collotypes; relief printing (lino and wood block), dry point etching with Chine collé. Over the final two days you can devote your time concentrating on one medium or work on a print that involves a combination of these. Bring along your drawings and photographs and discover how to adapt and develop your ideas into beautiful multiple prints.

Class synopsis - Adult – all levels  As printmaking is a medium that so readily allows itself to individual interpretation, this class will appeal to both those with printmaking experience and to those who may not be familiar with the printmaking process but have a curiosity for the medium coupled with a desire to extend their preferred medium into print. We will work with both black and white etching and explore the various methods of colour printing. In addition we will investigate the qualities of relief printing (Lino and wood blocks).

You can work with these techniques separately or decide on a print that involves a combination of these, or simply devote your time to concentrating on one medium. Bring along your drawings and photographs and discover how to adapt and develop your ideas into beautiful multiple prints.
